Sencrop is a European ag-tech start-up company, based in Euratechnologies (Lille, France), Europe’s third-largest startup accelerator.

Our mission is to empower every farmer to reduce their crop risks and make better decisions, with a positive impact on our planet.

To achieve that, we developed connected ag-weather stations to make it easy to decide the course of action farmers should take in any weather event & make the right agronomic choices at the right time: crop protection/sowing/irrigation etc.

👩‍🌾 Your objective:

Within the Business Intelligence (BI) team, we aim to make the company data-driven, enabling all team members to understand and use data. Tasks range from identifying faulty stations for the support team, managing key accounts and strategic users for the sales team, to calculating the company's revenue for the finance team.

A member of this team wears a dual hat, developing both technical skills and an understanding of the surrounding business.

Currently, our data synchronization and calculation processes are reaching their limits. As a Data Engineer, your primary role will be implementing new scalable tools.

😀 Your daily tasks:

• Implement new data tools: Replace our current Extraction-Load (EL) and Transformation (T) tools with modern and efficient ones that meet our long-term needs. For instance:
  • dbt
  • Airbyte, Fivetran
  • Mage, etc.
• Maintain our current technical stack:
  • EL: Python + Airflow
  • T: SQL
  • Database: PostgreSQL
  • Dev/Ops: GitHub + Terraform
  • Cloud provider: AWS
  • Analytics: Tableau
• Leverage this current stack and propose quick wins for improvements.
• Manage our data warehouse (database): tables, columns, performance, etc.
• Respond to business teams’ requests.
